The Emerald Cut
The Emerald Cut is an original mixed media artwork with turquoise faux leather draped over a 24” x 24” x 1.5” gallery wrapped canvas. The hanging portion of the piece adds an additional 7” to its height, making it 24” x 31” in total.
I created this unique and multidimensional design to not only be viewed with the eyes, but to allow for physical interaction as well. The soft turquoise fabric mimics the beautiful turquoise waters of the Caribbean where I was born. But the girl from The Bahamas became a Florida girl, and fell in love with the gorgeous freshwater springs of Central Florida. I was able to combine my fondness of the beautiful Bahamian seas with the tranquility of the meandering Florida springs.
